Jingzhushan Fm
Type Locality and Naming
North Lhasa Block – Sillin Co Basin. The No.4 Geological Team of Xizang erected the Jingzhushan Formation in 1973. The section for the designation is in Duoba of the Baingoin (Bange) County of Xizang (Tibet).
Lithology and Thickness
It is a group of greyish purple to purplish red conglomerates and sandstones with freshwater limestones or Orbitolina-bearing limestones in the Lower part. Upper part is dominated by conglomerates yielding rare fossils. The thickness of formation is 461 to 2500 m in the Bangoin (Bange) County.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The formation overlies unconformably the Langshan Fm.
Upper contact
Regional extent
The formation is distributed along Ge’gyai to Baingoin belt.

Fossils
The lower part of formation includes Bivalves Trigonioides (T.) sinensis Gu et Ma, T. (Diversitrigonioides) xizangensis Gu., and Foraminifera Orbitolina concava Lam., indicating a Cenomanian age. But the top age is obscure.
